At Juno, we are proud to work alongside corporate partners who share our vision of a future where women, trans, gender diverse people and children have access to safe, sustainable housing and support. One such committed charity partner is Melbourne Airport, whose generous and ongoing support has had a powerful impact on our work and our community.
Supporting for People Facing Homelessness and Family Violence
Over the past few years, Melbourne Airport has gone above and beyond to support people recovering from homelessness and family violence. From practical donations to charity fundraising events in Melbourne, their commitment has been both meaningful and deeply appreciated.
Melbourne Airport has provided a range of essential donations that directly support the people we work with—many of whom are rebuilding their lives after experiencing trauma. These donations have included iPhones and iPads to help people stay connected and access support services, phone and data cards, toiletries, children’s activity packs, overnight bags, and suitcases.
For someone starting over—often with only the clothes on their backs—these items can make a world of difference. They’re not just practical necessities; they represent dignity, connection, and a fresh start.
The Melbourne Airport Car Park Sleepout

In 2024, Melbourne Airport partnered with Juno and McAuley Community Services for Women to launch the inaugural Car Park Sleepout—a powerful fundraising event raising awareness of homelessness and family violence. Almost one hundred participants gave up their beds for a night to raise vital funds and show solidarity with the thousands of women, non-binary people and children who experience homelessness every night across Victoria.
The event was an incredible success, bringing together Melbourne Airport staff, corporate supporters, and community members. It raised much-needed funds for Juno’s programs and sparked important conversations about the systemic issues driving homelessness and family violence. We were deeply moved by the energy, commitment, and compassion that Melbourne Airport brought to the event, and we look forward to continuing to build on this foundation in the years ahead.
We’re excited to announce that tickets are now available for the 2025 Car Park Sleepout, taking place this October at Melbourne Airport. This charity sleepout is a powerful way to raise funds and show solidarity with people experiencing homelessness and family violence across Victoria.
Melbourne Airport CEO Lorie Argus said the airport was proud to bring the community together to shine a light on hidden homelessness.
“Each year thousands of women face the unimaginable reality of homelessness, with their car often becoming their last resort for shelter. These women are supported through their darkest moments by the amazing work of organisations like Juno and McAuley. Every dollar raised from our Car Park Sleepout goes to these life-changing organisations, and every conversation helps bring hidden homelessness out of the shadows.
As an airport we sadly see this play out all too frequently, with people arriving at the airport after fleeing violent situations with nothing but the clothes on their back. It is through referrals to Juno and McAuley that these women, children, and non-binary people find their first step towards safety and shelter.”

A Partnership That Matters
We know that we cannot do this work alone. It takes a community of supporters who are willing to stand beside us and take meaningful action.
We’re incredibly grateful for Melbourne Airport’s ongoing partnership. Through their generosity and advocacy, they are helping to create real, lasting change for people who deserve safety, stability, and the chance to rebuild.
