This end of financial year, Juno is asking for your help to continue our essential EMPower Program which has achieved outstanding results in breaking the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and family violence for women (trans and cis) and non-binary people.
Adapted from a highly successful program in the United States, EMPower addresses these challenges and has seen transformational results, having lifted all participants in the program out of poverty and into safe and secure housing.
We need $100,000 to continue this life changing program – with matched donations up to $25,000 from Pierogi Studio! Please give generously today and double your impact with a tax-deductible donation.
The journey of women and gender diverse people into homelessness is different to men. Nearly half of the women and non-binary people we see through our homelessness program say that family violence has jeopardised their housing.
Women like Sophie, a resilient single mother of two, who faced homelessness and family violence, living in her car for six months, before becoming rehoused and joining Juno’s EMPower Program.
Through EMPower, she regained her self-confidence and direction, securing a dream job within four months of starting the program. With her coaches’ guidance, Sophie pursued further education, engaged in advocacy, and achieved her dream of homeownership within two years.
“The work I’ve been doing with my coach has given me the confidence to know what I can do. I can achieve my goals, be confident, advocate for myself and get what I deserve. The strength, patience, and ability to work towards my goals are just a few of the things I’ve learnt about myself since joining EMPower.”
However without your crucial support, we risk discontinuing this vital program. Your contribution is essential to continue EMPower, enabling us to empower more individuals to break free from the cycle of poverty and rebuild their confidence and economic security.
The results from our pilot program have been nothing short of remarkable. Some of the outstanding outcomes achieved by participants include:
- A 326% increase in savings from $490 to $2,100
- An average fortnightly income increase of 46% from $1000 to $1463
- 100% were living above the poverty line, compared to only 14% at intake
- 100% achieved secure, sustainable housing, with 2 purchasing a home
- 76% of participants increased their overall Personal Wellbeing Index score
- 86% achieved the 311 goals set across the program
With your support we can empower more women and non-binary people and their families with economic stability and security. Double your impact today with all donations matched up to $25,000!
Thank you for your support.
