Everybody’s Home
We are a proud partner of the Everybody’s Home campaign, which calls for national action to end homelessness. With more and more people struggling to afford the private rental market, the demand for affordable or social rental properties is outstripping supply. And a chronic shortage of social and affordable housing is forcing record levels of homelessness.
Raise The Rate
A community of over 20,000 people working to ensure everyone has enough to cover the basics. People with lived experience of the income support system are at the heart of our campaign, working to lead political and social change. The campaign mobilises the power of our community to hold our leaders to account, build an evidence base, and share personal stories to change the narrative of poverty in Australia and build an undeniable call for action.
Are you Safe at Home?
Juno is proud to participate in this campaign which aims to provide critical information and support to individuals experiencing family and intimate partner violence. It helps to identify signs of an abusive relationship and offers resources to seek safety. The campaign advocates for systemic changes to improve safety and support for those affected by family violence.
Houses at Parliament
Juno takes part annually in this initiative to bring awareness to the need for more social and affordable housing. By placing tiny house installations on the steps of Parliament, the campaign calls on the State and Federal Governments commit to: 1. Build at least 60,000 additional, appropriate social homes to meet the current need in Victoria; and 2. Implement the 10 year National plan, with a commitment to END homelessness.
Week Without Violence
Every year hundreds of people across the Northern Metro Region mark the Week Without Violence by painting T-shirts. The Clothesline Project concept is simple: each participant expresses their feelings about family violence, on a T-shirt. The T-shirt then hangs on a virtual or real clothesline displayed by organisations or in public spaces throughout the region.
Walk Against Violence/16 Days of Activism
The Walk Against Family Violence, organised by Safe Steps and supported by Respect Victoria is an annual event where community members take a collective stand against family violence by participating in one of the many walk events held across Victoria on the day.
Build Homes not Prisons
Homes not Prisons is a campaign calling on the Victorian Government to stop the expansion of Dame Phyllis Frost and re-allocate the budget for prison building to public housing to provide “housing first” and support for criminalised women and their children.
Inquiry Into Victoria’s Public Housing Tower Demolition Plan
This campaign opposes the demolition of 44 public housing towers in Melbourne, which could displace thousands of residents. It calls for a halt to the demolition plans and advocates for investment in public housing to provide safe, affordable, and secure homes for those in need.
